Description

‘Accordion Player’ by Malaija Pootoogook – Inuit Art – Cape Dorset 2016 print collection by Dorset Fine Arts, presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          No condition to be noted.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:   Nice and entertaining composition by Malaija Pootoogook where we see a little gull that decides to play the accordion instead of singing.  Lovely the play of contrasting cool colours of the gull as opposed to the warm colours of the accordion.  Maybe this is a cold winter and this is how Malaija tells us how birds manage to keep warm in such cold weather.

Picture #4 depicts the print next to a letter size sheet of paper for sizing comparison….
