Notes from DaVic Gallery:    PARR’s works compare much with Luke Anguhadluq’s works on the rawness and direct firsthand representation of a nomadic life of the Inuit.    It is interesting to notice this collection of PARR images they all invoke from PARR’s memories as a hunter himself where all situations are related to hunter and animals.

The printer for this print is Eegyvudluk Pootoogook and she uses a large paper for this cut. There is plenty of white spare perhaps used to demonstrate white tundra where two hunters are chasing after three geese trying to get away from the hunters.  One seems to be successful holding one of the geese by the long neck.  Interestingly we also see two more highly sought and desirable animals, a walrus and a caribou and yet the hunters prefer to go after the geese.  Perhaps because they are carrying no weapons?  Top of the composition we also see a dog giving chase to the geese. Eight elements caught in apparently chaotic moment.

This is a very rare and very sought after print by PARR. Hard to come by and it turned very nicely after restoration.

The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
