Notes from DaVic Gallery: ‘Kayaker’s Spirit’ – Agnes was especially fascinated by fables and legends, stories of shamans, and myths, all of which she has illustrated, adding a touch of humor or mockery.

There was a little girl who was very sick. Her parents tried to make better using Shamans. Her parents told her, “Don’t peek out if you hear singing.” But the little girl peeked out. When she peeked out, the shaman in the kayak floated up into the sky. The other shamans tried to touch the Shaman’s kayak so he could come back down. The shaman with the weasel spirit tried, also the hawk tried be he couldn’t. Finally, the raven tried and he was successful.
