Notes from DaVic Gallery: The huge Thunderbird is one of the central figures of the native cosmology throughout the Northwest Coast area. In this print he is depicted capturing a whale, his main source of food. Thunderbird was smaller in size but he had magical powers and was able to carry the whale away.
