Description

Untitled (Look at What I Drew) by Shuvinai Ashoona – Inuit Art from Cape Dorset 2011 original hand drawing collection presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          Tape marks verso from previous framing. Small paper tear and fold visible bottom left corner of the paper.   It is common also that original drawings will show minor handling marks and probably stains caused by the artist themselves.  It is also common to see, particularly with Shuvinai’s drawings, uneven paper trimming.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    These two boys share their adventures in these drawings.  The first boy shows the clams he saw near the shore and the other boy sure has so many stories and adventures to share: he saw a seal, he stood on his hands, he walked on the shore and so many other places he visited.  Again, as in other drawings, many people in Shuvinai’s drawings have blue and clear eyes and maybe also light colour hair like blond for one of these boys.

The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
