‘Out of the Deep’ by Pitaloosie Saila – Inuit Art – Cape Dorset 2021 print collection by Dorset Fine Arts, presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          No condition noted.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:   A friendly looking creature shows its head and neck above the waterline of while the waters appear agitated or perhaps waves crashing on rocks as this creature prepares to leap onto those rocks.  Based on the shape I’d venture to say it’s a curious seal peeping out of the water.

I found interesting that as I was spending time colour matching my photos to the prints themselves after the photo session I realized that the prints in this edition though there is the attempt to make them same, they are not the same because there is hand-colouring done to each print.  So each print is slightly different from the others in the colouring.

The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
