Notes from DaVic Gallery: This colourful and cheerful print design by Pitaloosie Saila perhaps marks the beginning of a specific season for bird hunting, or perhaps alludes to a mother bird announcing her chicks she’s about to arrive at the nest with food. Either interpretation give it brings gladness with an uplifting sensation.
I found interesting that as I was spending time colour matching my photos to the prints themselves after the photo session I realized that the prints in this edition though there is the attempt to make them same, they are not the same because there is hand-colouring done to each print. So each print is slightly different from the others in the colouring.
The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
