Untitled (Sunny Day) by Shuvinai Ashoona – Inuit Art from Cape Dorset 2022 original hand drawing collection presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.
Condition: Misaligned paper trim. Note that it is common also that original drawings will show minor handling marks and probably stains caused by the artist themselves. It is also common to see, particularly with Shuvinai’s drawings, uneven paper trimming.

Notes from DaVic Gallery: Simple, beautiful, cheerful, bright composition by Shuvinai with a simple white background further brightening the entire composition giving the feeling of a sunny day. We have seven people and a baby being carried in mom’s hood enjoying this bright day together. This could well be a family outing. Somehow, we can sense two groups of three people on each side of the mother with her child. I think a nice white frame would further give the sense of larger bright daylight landscape for this gathering.
The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
