A Symbol of Teachings From Our Creator‘ by First Nations Odawa artist James Jacko – Original First Nations Woodland Art style painting presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

Condition:       No condition to report.

Description by Artist:  ‘A Symbol of Teachings From Our Creator’  – “Birds to me artistically symbolize and act as a messenger from the Creator among other things.   These birds deliver words of thanks, prayers, hope, and requests, and are witness to all deeds, good and bad, of this earth.   The blue middle orb symbolizes the Creator and the three smaller orbs on each side act as guardians.  The symbols inside hold or represent words and teachings that the Creator holds. The seven blue orbs also symbolize the Seven Teachings or gifts that the Creator has given us to use.  The plant with seven flowers also represent those Seven Teachings that are firmly planted, sown into the earth for that purpose, but yet at the same time fragile, if these teachings are no used properly, but also symbolize “Life”. ” – James Jacko

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    The Seven Teachings of the Grandfathers are love, respect, honesty, bravery, humility, truth, and wisdom.
