Description by Artist: ‘Teachings From Our Grandfathers’ – “The main circle represents the Creator and all seven circles together symbolize the Seven Teachings or Gifts from the Creator: Bravery, Honesty, Love, Truth, Humility, Wisdom, and Respect. These Gifts can help us all live in peace and harmony and with all that is in this world. The bird in the boy’s hand is delivering a teaching from the Creator… all the birds that deliver these messages and prayer are from the Creator in this painting.” – James Jacko
Notes from DaVic Gallery: Beautiful, powerful and moving painting with two brothers sharing and receiving the teachings of the Grandfathers. Big brother holds and guides his younger brother to these teachings and younger brother opens and receives the messenger from the Creator. Both brothers have medicine… James shared a story with me that his older brother would always grab his arm. I’m sure he painted this piece with his older brother in his mind.
