‘To the Hunting Grounds’ – diptych by Shuvinai Ashoona – original 2024 Inuit Art hand drawing  available for purchase with DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          No condition noted.  Drawing is signed by the artist in the back of paper.  It is common that original drawings will show minor handling marks and probably stains caused by the artist themselves.  It is also common to see, particularly with Shuvinai’s drawings, uneven paper trimming.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    This is a two part diptych.

As part of their survival strategies, entire families travel together to temporary camp bases for hunting reasons where it is known to be migration paths.  In this diptych we see 18 people, including children, disembarking their umiaq.

The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
