Description

‘Drying Fish’ by Jessie Oonark, RCA, OC – Inuit Art – Baker Lake 1970 print collection presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          Very Good condition – professionally restored for paper handling marks, foxing and yellowing marks.  Very minor yellow marks remain faintly visible up-close mainly lower right area that cannot be further cleaned.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:   Bringing food back to the camp results in community activity and here we see two men dragging 11 fish they caught back into the camp where three women and one man are waiting to prepare them for drying.  There is much activity happening in this lovely design.

Reference picture # 3 for size comparison with letter size paper.
