DaVic Art Gallery offers complimentary shipping within Canada and to the contiguous United States plus Alaska. U.S. import charges are separate from shipping costs.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Delivery delays – DaVic Art Gallery cannot be held responsible and is not liable for delays in shipping times that may occur during the delivery of your purchase. Once your shipment has been accepted by the shipping carrier, transit times and the carrier’s handling of the package are beyond DaVic Art Gallery’s direct control.
Package handling – A shipping service company (Canada Post, UPS, DHL, or others) may not always follow the instructions requested for delivery of the package. These directions may be:
- Signature is required: an adult at the destination address must sign for the package being received
- Do not safe-drop: package must be taken to the nearest Post or Courier office if no one is at the destination address to receive the package in person.
The shipping service company may leave the package at the door instead of hand-delivering it. This is out of DaVic Art Gallery’s control. DaVic Art Gallery will not be held responsible for the way the shipping service company handles the delivery.
To ensure you receive the package, please monitor the delivery progress using the tracking link you receive from DaVic Gallery once we ship your package and make the necessary arrangements so that the package may be received at the destination address.
Insurance – All shipments are insured against loss or damage for the purchase value of the artwork.
Shipping Service – By default, we offer ground service.
If you need a faster service, we offer priority shipping at an extra cost. See Priority Shipping Service section below for details.
Shipping within Canada – Shipping within Canada is complimentary.
Shipping to the United States – DaVic Art Gallery provides complimentary shipping to addresses in the contiguous United States, regardless of which shipping option you select at checkout.
* Please note that complimentary shipping refers to the cost of shipping only. Any applicable U.S. tariffs, duties, customs fees, taxes, or other government-imposed charges are separate from the shipping cost.
At checkout, U.S. customers can choose between two options:
Option One: SHIP LATER – Free Storage + Free Shipping
If you prefer not to pay the currently applicable U.S. tariffs and customs fees, select “SHIP LATER – Free Storage + Free Shipping.” DaVic Art Gallery will:
- Ship the artwork at the first reasonable opportunity when the current tariff has been eliminated or reduced to a level acceptable to you
- Store your purchased artwork onsite at no cost
- Guarantee your purchase price
- Guarantee complimentary shipping to the contiguous United States
- Safeguard and maintain the condition of the artwork while it remains in our care
Your artwork will remain securely stored with DaVic Art Gallery until you authorize shipment following a reduction or elimination of the applicable U.S. tariff. Because U.S. tariff and customs policies are determined by government authorities, DaVic Art Gallery cannot guarantee when such an opportunity will occur.
Option Two: SHIP NOW – Free Shipping + U.S. Tariffs & Customs Fees
If you would like to receive your artwork without waiting, select “Ship Now – U.S. Tariffs & Customs Fees.”
- At checkout, DaVic Art Gallery will calculate and collect the estimated U.S. tariffs and customs-related fees applicable to the shipment based on the information available at the time of purchase. Actual charges may vary if government tariff rates, customs requirements, or carrier fees change before the shipment is processed.
- The calculated amount is displayed directly beside the Ship Now option before you place your order.
- Amounts collected by DaVic Art Gallery for Ship Now are intended to cover the applicable tariff and customs-related charges associated with importing the artwork into the United States
- Your shipping cost to the contiguous United States is still complimentary.
- Refused U.S. Shipments: If a customer selects immediate shipment and subsequently refuses to pay any additional tariff, duty, customs, brokerage, or import charge required for delivery, the shipment may be returned to DaVic Art Gallery. Any refund issued following the safe return of the artwork will be reduced by all outbound shipping, return shipping, customs, brokerage, handling, and other costs incurred by DaVic Art Gallery.
Background Information on U.S. Tariffs and Customs Fees:
- Current U.S. trade measures impose an additional 50% tariff on specified Canadian-origin artworks entering the United States. Customs-processing, brokerage, or other import-related fees may also apply. If you select SHIP NOW, DaVic Art Gallery will collect the estimated applicable tariff and customs-related charges at checkout. If you select SHIP LATER, these charges are not collected and the artwork remains safely stored in Canada.
- U.S. import charges are separate from DaVic Art Gallery’s complimentary shipping policy and are determined by U.S. authorities and applicable carrier/customs procedures.
- Customers requesting immediate shipment are responsible for all tariffs, duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, handling fees, and other import-related costs applicable at the time of shipment.
- U.S. tariff and customs requirements are subject to change. DaVic Art Gallery may modify its shipping procedures and import-charge calculations as government regulations and carrier requirements change.

+ What happens if I choose Ship Later?
Once your purchase has been completed using the “Ship Later” option, the artwork is sold to you and removed from availability. DaVic Art Gallery is simply storing and safeguarding your purchased artwork until you authorize shipment.
You do not pay the currently calculated tariff and customs amount at checkout. DaVic Art Gallery holds the artwork and ships it when a reasonable tariff-free opportunity becomes available.
+ Is the artwork price protected while I wait?
Yes. The purchase price is guaranteed once the order is completed. Any later change in the gallery’s selling price will not affect the price you paid.
+ Will I eventually have to pay a storage charge?
No. Storage under the Ship Later option is complimentary for as long as the artwork remains with DaVic Art Gallery awaiting shipment.
+ Is free shipping still guaranteed if I choose Ship Later?
Yes. Complimentary shipping to the contiguous United States remains guaranteed. Choosing to wait does not cause you to lose the free-shipping benefit.
+ How will my artwork be cared for while it is stored?
DaVic Art Gallery will safeguard the artwork and maintain its documented condition while it remains in the gallery’s care.
+ When will my artwork ship if I select Ship Later?
DaVic Art Gallery will ship the artwork at the first reasonable tariff-free opportunity.
Because tariff rules and U.S. import requirements are determined by government authorities and may change, DaVic Art Gallery cannot guarantee a specific date on which such an opportunity will occur.
+ Can I decide later that I want the artwork shipped immediately?
Yes. If you initially select Ship Later and later decide that you no longer wish to wait, please contact DaVic Art Gallery.
If tariffs, customs fees, brokerage fees, or other import charges apply at that time, those charges will need to be addressed before the artwork can be shipped.
+ Why does the checkout page call this “Shipping” if shipping is free?
The checkout system displays the selection in the Shipping section because the customer is choosing when and under what import arrangement the artwork will be shipped.
The amount displayed beside “Ship Now – U.S. Tariffs & Customs Fees” is not a charge for transportation or delivery. Complimentary shipping to the contiguous United States applies to both the Ship Now and Ship Later options.
+ Is my purchased artwork still available for sale while it is being stored?
No. Once your purchase has been completed and payment received, the artwork is sold to you and immediately removed from availability. DaVic Art Gallery is simply storing and safeguarding your purchased artwork until you authorize shipment.
+ What happens if I select Ship Now but refuse customs charges after shipment?
If a shipment is refused because applicable tariffs, duties, brokerage fees, customs charges, or other import costs are not paid, the carrier may return the artwork to DaVic Art Gallery. Any refund will be issued only after the artwork is safely returned and will be reduced by all costs incurred in connection with the shipment and return.
International Shipping
- The customer is responsible for shipping costs as well as any additional costs, such as duties, taxes, handling or brokerage fees, or any other customs clearance related fees.
- To get a quote for all international shipping destinations outside Canada and the United States, please contact us at info@nativecanadianarts.com with your address.
- For international destinations outside Canada and the United States, DaVic Art Gallery will provide a shipping quote and apply a credit equivalent to the complimentary shipping allowance normally provided for an equivalent shipment within Canada or to the contiguous United States. Once the shipping cost is agreed upon, DaVic Art Gallery will make the shipping rate visible on the checkout page and automatically add it to your invoice during the checkout process.
Priority Shipping Service – If you require faster delivery, priority shipping is available at an additional cost. Please indicate this in the Notes field during checkout. DaVic Art Gallery will contact you to arrange your preferred delivery service. Your cost will be the difference between the free ground service we offer to Canada or the United States and the cost of the priority shipping service you choose.
Shipping framed prints – To eliminate the risk of damage to artwork caused by broken glass during transport, DaVic Art Gallery normally ships prints unframed.
When a framed print is shipped unframed, the artwork is removed from its existing frame and only the artwork is shipped. The frame itself is not included in the shipment unless this has been specifically agreed upon in writing before purchase.
If a purchaser specifically requests that an artwork be shipped in its existing frame, DaVic Art Gallery will provide a separate shipping quote. Complimentary shipping does not apply to framed shipments because of the additional size, weight, packaging requirements, and risk involved.
