Description

‘Fighting Over a Fish’ by Simon Tookoome – Inuit Art – Baker Lake 1985 print collection presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          Paper lightly creased upper left 1/2″ from edge and 5″ long.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:   Almost whimsical print of two fishermen fighting to keep a fish that is already partly in their mouths.  The blue background shows the lake or water body the fish was fetched from.  Their parka hoods give the impression of snow covered shore then giving the idea they perhaps represent two different tribes fighting over a fishing area.
