Notes from DaVic Gallery:   Modern Northern houses don’t necessarily account for Inuit communal living with large number of family members may live in the same house providing for not enough rooms or beds. There is often not enough room for furniture or areas for working or eating. Mealtimes are often seating on the floor where fish or meat is cut and laid on a cardboard laid across the living room and everyone is invited to join in and share the food.
