Notes from DaVic Gallery:   Many of Qavavau’s compositions depict cross humans in friendship and integration with other animals.  In this drawing we see a man visiting a whale while dolphins play around.  The man uses a breathing device that helps him stay underwater for extended periods.  Every dolphin and the whale are surrounded by small fish, but the man is not.  Also, interestingly, while all small fish swim in same direction on all dolphins and the whale from tail to head direction, the fish that surround the bottom dolphin some swim in opposite directions.  Lovely piece indeed.
