Description by Artist: ‘Grandma’s Crest‘ – “This Eagle has a woman on the top of its ears. The Eagle is the mother who has one daughter and three boys to bear her crest of the Eagle Clan.
So, the Eagle is my Dad’s Crest, along with his other brothers and his nieces and nephews. I am proud to draw up this crest for my Dad, which was painted by my niece, who is interested in art.”

In this design the Eagle is Heber’s grandmother, who has four children. The woman in the ear is her daughter. The face in the centre of the Eagle is Heber’s dad, and the two faces on the sides are his uncles.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:
This Limited Edition silkscreen prints titled “Grandma’s Crest” by Heber Reece was published in August, 2000. It was hand produced by the screen-printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of this design. The artist was involved in the printmaking, checking the stencils and signing each copy in the edition: 100 signed and numbered copies, 10 artist’s proofs, 1 Remarque’s and 1 printer’s proof. 3 Hors de Commerce copies exist and are defaced and all other trial copies have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated.
