Many More Moons Ago represents the different phases of the moon. The stages of the moon played an important role in the Salish world. Besides its role in the harvesting of food, the moon played a role in ceremonies and stories of the Salish people.”

Notes from DaVic Gallery: This limited edition silkscreen print titled “Many More Moons Ago” by Maynard Johnny Jr was published in December, 2004. It was hand produced by the screen printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of this design. The artist has inspected and signed each copy in the edition: 200 signed and numbered copies, 20 artist’s proofs, 1 printer’s proof. All trial copies of this edition have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated.
