Ravens Housepost’ by Dylan Thomas – First Nations Northwest Coast, Coast Salish Art presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

This print is ** SOLD **

Condition:          No condition noted.

Description by Artist:   ‘Ravens Housepost’ –   Traditionally Coast Salish people did not have full-sized totem poles. Instead, they chose to design welcoming figures and decorated their house posts.  Like totem poles, the house posts sometimes represented family crests.  They also sometimes represented an event or ceremony that had taken place in the past.  This design is contemporary take on the traditional idea of decorating house posts represented by ravens.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    This limited edition silkscreen print titled “Ravens Housepost” by Dylan Thomas was published in October, 2008.  It was hand produced by the screen printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of this design.
