Description by Artist: What inspired me to paint Spring Harvest is that when I was very young my mom, I remember going out with her in the forest and picking morels and throughout the years we’ve been fortunate to still pick morels where I come from, and at the same times in around the spring harvest is when fiddleheads grow. We’re taught to provide tobacco as offering to mother earth as offering when we harvest from her and this painting depicts women harvesting fiddleheads and morels and they’re providing an offering.
