Description

‘Surrender’ by Candace Twance – First Nations Woodland Art presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

Condition:       No condition noted.   Painting does not wrap around the edges of the canvas stretcher as shown in picture 2, a frame is recommended, but not necessary. Please inquire.

Description by Artist:     “Surrender” – is up for interpretation by the viewer. I see the looming figure as either a burden or a protector. It can be either way. The smaller figure surrenders calmly. This can speak for any relationship between people, OR it can be seen as an interpretation of a Higher Power, Life, being swept up. Again, the message is undefined because I want people to subject their own feelings to it.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:     This painting is loaded with spiritual life message: Accept and Surrender.  How many times we struggle with what we deep inside feel we must do or follow or stop doing and yet the inertia of the life we currently lead stops us from taking action and follow our calling.  Suffering in fear of what may happen and suffering in pain for being where we currently are.  Trust and Surrender to life, with no apprehension, follow your truth and be free.
