‘The Travellers’ by Candace Twance – First Nations Woodland Art presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

Description by Artist:     ‘The Travellers’ –  journey together in a canoe amidst the shores of Lake Superior. The blue shape at the bottom of the canvas are commemorative of the rock paintings (pictographs) of the Northern Ontario region. This is an abstract piece but it tells a story. It is a very colorful and textured work, with the use of foil and modelling paste, which creates a surface much like the rough and jagged rock areas of the shore of the Great Lake which I reside beside.
