Description

‘Transformation’ by Susan Point, O.C., DFA., RCA., D.Litt – First Nations Northwest Coast, Coast Salish Art presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

Condition:          No condition noted.

Description by Artist:     ‘Transformation’ – “Water, being the essence of life”, this design is intended to give the feel of “bursts of complete life” using the entire surface of the design to show that all life stems from water … fluid, flowing, designs that relate to water.  Interpreted through Coast Salish First Nations’ teachings, the circular format of this design also represents the “circle of life” and the fact that all life, in one way or another, is somehow connected.  The imagery in this design also illustrates the flow of energy as caterpillar transforms into a butterfly.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    Life gives us the opportunity to grow our minds and spirit and transform our intentions and path for spiritual growth. To find ourselves, awake to our wholeness realizing that we are that beautiful butterfly, that we didn’t have to embark in a journey because the journey requires no steps.
