Notes from DaVic Gallery: Although this print series does not include the legends and signatures a typical Cape Dorset print includes, this is with no doubt a traditional representation of a bird by Lucy Qinnuayuak. In this year, 1962, there were 2 untitled engraving prints issued for Lucy Qinnuayuak, #08 and #15. This is Untitled #08, Bird and Seal in “Inunnit”. Beautifully arranged bird and seal on white space.
When considering for professional restoration, strong advice is to leave as in and do not wash as this “patina” the print has developed gives the print such beautiful character.
