Notes from DaVic Gallery – Padloo Samayualie brings remarkable sensitivity and precision to ‘Young Wolf.’ Drawn on deep blue paper, the composition uses thousands of fine, light colored strokes to build the thick, soft texture of the wolf’s fur. The young wolf rests with its eyes closed, its head nestled near delicate tundra grasses outlined in gentle white lines.

Samayualie’s dense, rhythmic line work gives the coat a warm, glowing presence that stands out beautifully against the cool paper ground. Known for her crisp architectural drawings and everyday object studies, she brings that same graphic clarity to this wildlife portrait, creating a tender and memorable view of Arctic life.

The blank sheet of letter size (8 ½ x 11 in) paper covering part of the image in the scale reference picture is provided for size comparison, offering an immediate sense of the drawing’s scale and presence.
