Condition: No condition noted. However, it is common that original drawings will show minor handling marks and probably stains caused by the artist themselves. It is also common to see, particularly with Shuvinai’s drawings, uneven paper trimming.
Description by Artist: When Grandparents were getting to be babies in amauti.
Notes from DaVic Gallery: Based on the title, the baby that the mother is carrying in her amauti must be Shuvinai’s grandfather and that would then make the woman and the man here Great Grandparents. Clearly the activities they are performing relate to the “Old-ways”.
The blank sheet of letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper covering part of the image in the last picture is for size reference.
