Description
‘Dzunukwal’ by Rande Cook – First Nations Northwest Coast Kwakwaka’wakw Art presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.
Condition: No condition to be noted.
Description by Artist: The legend of Dzunukwa she is slow and dimwitted. She tried to capture children, but never succeeded. She lived alone, deep in the forest, and away from all villages. We live in a society where image is everything and this print is dedicated to the beauty that lies within all women. The burst of color surrounding her is the beauty of life embracing her. She is now alive, surrendering to the past and embracing her own power.
