‘Going Home from Shopping’ by Shuvinai Ashoona – Inuit Art from Cape Dorset 2022 original hand drawing collection presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts.

Condition:          No condition noted.  It is common that original drawings will show minor handling marks and probably stains caused by the artist themselves.  It is also common to see, particularly with Shuvinai’s drawings, uneven paper trimming.

Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    Is it the woman carrying a large vegetable(?) or is it the couple carrying 10 children in total that are going back home from shopping?  The woman carries 5 children in here hood and four in front while the dad carries one older boy on his shoulders.  Still looks a good day shopping.

All babies are sleeping and wearing hoods with pointy ears.  Will these adorable children grow to be the friendly monsters we see in other compositions by Shuvinai?
