‘Rabbit Family’ by Eddy Cobiness – Original First Nations Woodland Art painting presented by DaVic Gallery of Native Canadian Arts

Notes from DaVic Gallery:  ‘Rabbit Family’ – While somewhat added complexity of colors, simplicity remains with every line and curve that details are easily overlooked and then identified and appreciated with each time one looks at Eddy’s watercolors.  Take note of the curious design in his signature depicting a small family of loons or ducks swimming in a pond while two birds fly over in the sky and a fish swims underwater.  Mom is carrying two of the loons on her back.

Six playful baby rabbits circle around and explore near the watchful eyes of their parents.  With the circular motion of lines this piece perceives plenty of movement.  In several of Cobiness’ paintings such as this one it is clear family love and care is important part of his life and that he desires and never received.

Pictures of this piece framed and unframed in different settings are provided for your convenience for better perception of size.
