Description by Artist:     No description by artist found.

Notes from DaVic Gallery:    PARR’s works compare much with Luke Anguhadluq’s works on the rawness and direct first hand representation of a nomadic life of the Inuit.    It is interesting to notice this collection of PARR images they all invoke from PARR’s memories as a hunter himself where all situations are related to hunter and animals.

Old and new hunting weapons used to capture this massive walrus swimming in the sea: a harpoon used to hold and pull the walrus and a rifle to hurt and kill it.  Takes three hunters to pull the walrus off the water, one of them digging his feet and nearly seated on the floor during his pulling effort while the other two hunters remain standing and helping pull.

Reference picture # 5 for size comparison with letter size paper.
